The 10 Best Restaurants In Quito’s Old Town

The staff were lovely and brought us complimentary bread, aperitifs and digestifs. The portion sizes were big and we struggled to finish it! Our only criticism was that the place was quite cold and lacked ambiance as it was a very quiet day. This is one of my best all-time meals. We had a multi course tasting meal that accommodated our needs around food with tremendous vegetarian options.

The pina colada and sushi I love it. Breathtaking views of the city skyline. Can clearly see the Basilica and Panecillo. As for the food, Quimbolitos were not that great.

This intimate little restaurant has only a few small tables, but they always seem to be full. Casa Gangotena is a luxurious hotel in a beautifully renovated colonial building in who wears a black cowboy hat the center of Quito. Ranking among the top hotels in the world, Casa Gangotena is an example of elegance and class, and the hotel’s restaurant mirrors these qualities perfectly.

Having moved back to Quito from San Francisco, I was desperate to find proper sushi. While this place feels like a small “locals” sushi bar, it is actually an immensely refined concept of Chef-Owner Junior Cordova Galarza. Sophisticated old-world property in the historical center, offering haute dining & a cozy bar. Pangora seems to be some sort of crab meat and it’s gorgeous. Exceptional value in American terms.
