My name is Lela, (say it like LEE-luh) and I’m so glad you stopped by my blog! Whether you’re into organizing, home improvement, crafts, or you contigo water bottle replacement lid just think my pets are cute, you’ll find all kinds of inspo here. Michael’s, in my personal opinion, has the best stock of Cricut tools.
I got a set of 3 Stickles for $4.99 which I think is a pretty good deal. I also bought some single sheet patterned paper for a special birthday card I am making my sister. It’s called ‘Spring in Bloom’ from their Bloom & Grow line.
I bought 5 sheets so that I would have enough in case I mess up a cut, etc. for the card. Last night I made two A2 size cards (4.25 x 5.5 inches) featuring the Sizzix embossing folder called “Birds of a Feather”. For the blue thank you card, I embossed the image on the actual card base and didn’t add anything else to the image. The image is so pretty that it can pretty much stand on its own. Embellishments from the ribbon, rub-on, and a corner rounder punch finish off the card. For the pink “Thinking of You” card, I embossed the image on a beige linen mat.
The red actually looks like a darker pink so it worked well with the ribbon and the pink card base. Hobby Lobby offers classes for learning how to use the Cricut. Classes are taught by a staff member with extensive experience teaching how to use the products. Classes are held in store locations and some classes are offered online through the store. I hope all of the mothers out there had a wonderful Mother’s Day yesterday!
I just bought this cartridge and was so excited to use the chip decor that you can buy with it. I got the crown 11″ and I had a couple of others already at home that I found in my craft room. I have the fleur-de-lis one too and have been trying for a long time to get it to cut right but it won’t. I also have the cricut explore machine so I am usuing the cricut design space to do everything.
I love pretty ribbon and I am drawn to the gingham and the sheer types. My go-to stores for glitter cardstock paper are Michaels and Hobby Lobby. Each store sells glitter paper for $1.99 a sheet, but each store has something a little bit different to offer. I absolutely LOVE creating projects with glitter cardstock, but not all glitter cardstocks are created equal. At $2 for a single 12″ x 12″ sheet, you want to make sure that you are getting the best color and quality possible for your project.
A lot of times, people get materials as gifts, in a Mystery Box, or part of bundle, and some varieties don’t suit their style. Other times they just loaded up on a sale day at the craft store and realize they’re never going to use it all. To assist in finding the right glitter cardstock paper for your project, I have created a chart that shows where I buy my most used glitter cardstocks. The hearts represent which store carries the truest shade of a particular color. I’m always impressed with how much Walmart has when it comes to Cricut Vinyl. They don’t usually have specialty vinyl or many pattern options, but if you’re looking for basic vinyl for everyday projects, you can usually find what you need there.
I went to clip art, found a picture of Lincoln and just typed the words and stars in myself. Get the best value on product protection including fast repairs or replacements. If you are looking for a true gold, I would purchase from Michael’s. If you are looking for more of a yellow gold, I would purchase from Hobby Lobby. The color options available at Michael’s and Hobby lobby are also very different.
