Reef or water shoes should be high on your list when you are deciding what to wear in Puerto Rico. Perfect for heading to places like El Yunque National Forest, they are practical and comfortable. Unlike other shoes, they are designed to get wet and most of all, protect your feet from sharp rocks. I adore that they just don’t gather sand and they can also act as a blanket if needed, and take up SO much less space in your bags.

This is ideal, as it’s fairly cheap and you can hop on and hop off as you decide what you’d like to do that day. When lounging by the pool or hanging around at the beach, a swimsuit cover-up is a must-have. You can throw it on over your swimsuit and take a stroll or go for lunch without having to completely change or walk around in a damp towel.
